USPRE Announces its 2011 Dressage Rider Scholarship Program
USPRE will accept applications beginning immediately for its Dressage Rider Scholarship Program. This scholarship is available only to USPRE members in good standing, who are riding papered PRE horses. The scholarship is designed to provide education and training to the recipient and their horse-in the form of clinic participation or training fees, and the expenses incurred in the process. There are three categories under which applications will be considered:
1. JUNIOR/YOUNG RIDER $ 1500.00
APPLICANT MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR YOUNGER AND RIDING A PRE HORSE. THE RIDER DOES NOT NEED TO OWN A PRE HORSE. THE SCHOLARSHIP MAY BE USED ONLY TO EDUCATE THE RIDER WHEN RIDING THE PRE HORSE, AND MAY BE APPLIED TO THE FEES AND EXPENSES INCURRED TO THAT END.
2. PROFESSIONAL RIDER – $2000.00
APPLICANT MUST BE OVER 21 YEARS OF AGE AND COMPETING A PRE HORSE. THE RIDER DO NOT NEED TO OWN A PRE HORSE, BUT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THE PROFESSIONAL IS TEACHING AND RIDING THE PRE HORSE AND ACTIVELY COMPETING WITH IT. THE SCHOLARSHIP CAN BE USED ONLY FOR THE TRAINING AND EDUCATION OF THE PRE HORSE, AND MAY BE APPLIED TO THE FEES AND EXPENSES INCURRED TO THAT END.
3. AMATEUR RIDER – $1500.00
TO APPLY THE PERSON HAS TO BE A REGISTERED AMATEUR RIDER WITH A VALID USEF AMATEUR CARD. THE AMATEUR RIDER HAS TO OWN THE PRE HORSE AND THE SCHOLARSHIP MAY BE USED ONLY TO EDUCATE THE RIDER WHEN RIDING THE PRE HORSE, AND MAY BE APPLIED TO THE FEES AND EXPENSES INCURRED TO THAT END.
All applications and videos will be evaluated by an independent and impartial Equestrian Professional. Decisions will be reached solely on the basis of the submissions and not on past performance.
Please submit a cover letter and resume, copies of two (2) tests completed by applicant with PRE horse, and a show or schooling video to USPRE Business Office, 5440 East Farr Road, Fruitport, MI 49415.
Deadline for 2011 Applications is October 1st, 2011.
